Sauvage Elixir is not a stronger Sauvage — it is a different fragrance wearing the same name. François Demachy dropped the ambroxan that defines the Eau de Toilette and rebuilt the composition around a dense lavender essence, a spice accord of cinnamon, nutmeg and cardamom, and a liquorice-and-vetiver base that turns almost salty as it dries. Grapefruit opens it, but only briefly. The result is thick, dark and genuinely potent: two sprays is the whole dose, and it stays on fabric for days. Cold weather and evenings.
